Soil tillage is the mechanical impact on the soil by the working parts of agricultural machinery and implements aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for growing agricultural crops. Soil tillage technologies are among the oldest and most widely used agronomic practices. In terms of importance and scope of operations, tillage occupies a leading position in modern farming systems. The development of agricultural production is impossible without soil tillage, as it provides optimal conditions for sowing crops and their subsequent growth and development. Despite the considerable energy costs associated with tillage operations, their effectiveness is achieved through compliance with agronomic requirements and consideration of the specific soil and climatic conditions of a region. Mechanical tillage has a comprehensive effect on both the soil and the agroecosystem as a whole, which is one of its major advantages. The application of different tillage methods contributes to the improvement of soil physical properties, accumulation and conservation of moisture, enhancement of soil fertility, and the creation of favorable conditions for plant growth and development. Furthermore, soil tillage helps reduce the impact of adverse environmental factors and increases the resilience of agricultural crops. The continuous improvement of tillage technologies enables more efficient use of agricultural machinery, reduces labor and material costs, and minimizes anthropogenic impacts on the environment while preserving the natural fertility of soils.
