Abstract

The article considers the possibility of using the antiprotozoal drug "Azidine" in the treatment regimen of dogs with a viral disease – plague of carnivores. The data confirming the effectiveness of the use of azidine in all forms of the course of carnivorous plague in dogs, except for the nerve agent, are presented. Some issues of the pharmacodynamics of azidine in the treatment of intracellular viruses are considered. The above treatment regimen makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of therapy for carnivorous plague in sick animals. The use of azidine, which has the ability to penetrate into affected cells and block the synthesis of viral ribonucleic acid, significantly reduces the duration of the disease and mortality among dogs. Azidine promotes a more complete release of the body from the virus, which is confirmed by a reduction in the time of removal of the viral antigen from the animal body. Studies have shown that the inclusion of azidine in the treatment regimen of various forms of plague, such as intestinal, cutaneous and pulmonary, significantly increases the percentage of recovery, with the exception of the nervous form, in which the drug is not effective. Thus, azidine is recommended for use in the complex therapy of carnivorous plague to improve its outcomes.
