This article compares the germination rates of potato varieties XS1, XS4, and XS5 (China) and the domestic variety Gala in the arid soil conditions of the Abay region. The study was conducted in the spring of 2025, determining the germination rate of seed tubers, germination time, and average height of initial shoots.Potatoes are one of the most important food crops, widely grown in Kazakhstan. Due to the diverse agroclimatic conditions across the country's regions, the adaptability and germination rates of potato varieties can vary significantly.
